Short Biographical Sketch of the Author PONNAM RAVICHANDRA

       Ponnam Ravichandra is a senior journalist hailed from Karimnagar District of A.P., presently working as Associate Editor to ‘Andhra Pradesh’ magazine. He had born and brought up in a peasant family, but developed great love for letters. He had a credit of publishing hundreds of articles on literature, fine arts, politics and films, in his long career of 25 years. He had worked as the Editor to ‘Manair Times’, a reputed local daily of Karimnagar and other books like “Shatavasantaala Karimnagar”. He had a great respect on the art of film-making and wrote many reviews and critical analyses on Telugu Cinema. His works have been recognized by the Government of A.P. and appointed him as the JURY MEMBER to NANDI FILM AWARDS COMMITTEE for 2006.
        The present book, PRASTHANAM is an outcome of his incessant efforts for 7 years, as the topic demanded extensive research and wide-range of interactions with various personalities from Telugu Film Industry and reference of the books. Thus, came this book with all the rare information on the journey of 80 years of Telugu Cinema in a chronological perspective. This historical presentation had made the book as the authoritative document on Tollywood, which will definitely be a reference to future generations.
