Optional fields

[మార్చు]

When an operational station is closed, the usage figures will come across to this template via these fields. In general they will have already been added as part of the Infobox GB station

| usage0203 = 0.764
| usage0405 = 0.764
| usage0506 = 0.764
| usage0607 = 0.764
| usage0708 = 0.764
| usage0809 = 0.764
| lowusage0203= 5,250
| lowusage0405= 5,250
| lowusage0506= 5,250
| lowusage0607= 5,250
| lowusage0708= 5,250
| lowusage0809= 5,250

Note: either the 'usage' or the 'lowusage' fields may be used, but not both sets. For 'usage', figures should be expressed in millions, whilst for 'lowusage', figures should be in units.

Alternative forms

[మార్చు]
| image =
| line =
| manager =
| owner =
  • The |image= parameter allows the full image syntax to be used. |image= is exactly equivalent to |image_name=Example.jpg
  • The |manager= and |owner= parameters are equivalent to |pregroup= and |postgroup= respectively.
  • Note that if both alternative and equivalent are given, both will be displayed.
  • Previously, |line= was similarly treated as equivalent to |original=, but it now displays as Line. As a temporary measure, the use of |line= will place the article in hidden Category:Unusual parameters of Infobox station template so that they can be evaluated whether |original= was intended.

In each case, use a wikilink, piped where necessary in order to hide text like "Metropolitan Borough of ", " (district)", etc. Examples: |borough=Rutland; |borough=Bedford; |borough=Epping Forest; |borough=Highland; |borough=Bridgend

When displaying an image either 'image' or 'image_name' should be used, not both. The 'image' field allows an image width to be specified, while 'image_name' automatically sets the width to 265px (preferred).

When identifying the original company and pre-grouping company 'original' and ' pregroup' should be used. In the event that the station is reopened (for example - Alloa railway station, it will not conflict with the infobox for open stations. The 'line' and ' manager' fields refer to the initial setup of the template and should be avoided to prevent this possible conflict.

The 'original' field refers to the company that originally founded the station if different from the 'manager' field.

The 'pregroup' field refers to the historical railway company that owned and/or maintained the station prior to the 1923 grouping.

The 'postgroup' field refers to the Big Four company that took over after the 1923 grouping.

Legacy fields

[మార్చు]
The 'line' field refers to the company that originally founded the station if different from the 'manager' field.
The 'manager' field refers to the historical railway company that owned and/or maintained the station prior to the 1923 grouping.
The 'owner' field refers to the Big Four company that took over after the 1923 grouping.

Note: latitude must be present if longitude is present, and vice versa, and they should have the same number of decimal places (trailing zeroes are significant). Four decimal places are recommended for disused stations as in a lot of cases a former station site may be difficult to locate: four will allow some extra precision.

By default, latitude and longitude are displayed both in the infobox and at upper right. To show coordinates in the infobox only, add |coord_display=inline to the infobox. This is useful where one article has more than one infobox.

Microformats

[మార్చు]

The HTML markup produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the place-name and location parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue articles across Wikipedia, or via a browser tool operated by a person, to (for example) add the subject to an address book. Within the hCard is a Geo microformat, which additionally makes the coordinates (latitude & longitude) parsable, so that they can be, say, looked up on a map, or downloaded to a GPS unit. For more information about the use of microformats on Wikipedia, please see the microformat project.

Sub-templates

[మార్చు]

If the place or venue has "established", "founded", "opened" or similar dates, use start date for the earliest of those dates unless the date is before 1583 CE.

If it has a URL, use URL.

Please do not remove instances of these sub-templates.

hCard uses HTML classes including:

  • adr
  • agent
  • category
  • county-name
  • extended-address
  • fn
  • label
  • locality
  • nickname
  • note
  • org
  • region
  • street-address
  • uid
  • url
  • vcard

Geo is produced by calling coord, and uses HTML classes:

  • geo
  • latitude
  • longitude

Please do not rename or remove these classes nor collapse nested elements which use them.

When giving coordinates, please use an appropriate level of precision. Do not use coord's |name= parameter.
